Latest project
October 5, 2006 on 9:17 am | In Affiliate marketing, home based business, internet business, make money online, seo | No CommentsHaven’t been able to post for a while due to a whole bunch of projects which are currently underway. I’m building my biggest site yet, which you can find at http://www.iquitwork.com/Site_Map.html . It’s been great fun setting it all up and getting it running – especially since I’ve recently bought the XSitePro software which makes setting it up and layout so easy.
This software also has the benefit of saving money as you only pay one hosting fee however many websites you run! Pretty useful – though I’m not going to move over too many of my older sites, just enjoying creating the new ones on this easy to use software designed for internet marketers.
Dr Andy’s EZSEO
September 8, 2006 on 8:30 am | In Affiliate marketing, Make money with Adsense, home based business, internet business, make money online, seo | No CommentsAfter finishing my Adsense Freedom site, I’m now in the process of building a new site using the information I’ve learned from Dr. Andy’s two books – the first “Battle for the Top 10″ and the more recent “Creating Big Fat Affiliate Sites”. Despite being an avid reader of the latest techniques by SEO experts – Dr Andy always seems to be ahead of the game.
His ideas seem to preceed the information in the recent Googleicious and Going Natural reports – although both of those also contain some pretty useful stuff.
I love the way he uses examples – like using quotes or no quotes on Google searches for beautifully phrased words like “big bad blue widgets” – this guy even has a sense of humour!

New Software for Building Your Websites
August 30, 2006 on 9:42 am | In Achieve Financial Freedom, Affiliate marketing, Create content, Make money with Adsense, alterpreneurs, home based business, internet business, make money online, seo | No CommentsThe search continues to find good software to build websites with. Although I’ve been using Yahoo Sitebuilder
for over a year now and am very pleased with it – I felt that I needed something more to start building my latest websites.
Hence I’ve been looking around to see what the experts are using and recommending. One piece of software that I’m sorely tempted to try is X Site Pro – built for individuals who are really looking to build profitable online businesses. It automatically integrates Adsense into your sites, allows instant template changes, creates a Google Sitemap in xml for you, two clicks to create a privacy page (essential these days for Google to see you as a “serious” site), built in pop-in and pop-up creator, customised & easy to follow seo optimisation tips for each page, remembers details of your affiliate links – what am I waiting for?
Did I mention that it also has a 300 page user manual – I’ve tried other softwares but have always been let down by the lack of an adequate and detailed manual to really understand the full functionality.
The only other tool which I have looked at is the Wordpress blog created by semiologic, but I have to confess that I am put off by the fact that you do need some technical knowledge to get it going – although it seems to be all bells and whistles once it’s up and running. Jonathan Leger uses it for his blog at http://www.jonathanleger.com/ – although I don’t love the font he uses, you can see what a clean and easy to follow site it is.
Anyhow, I’m now going to sit down and plan out my next website, which I am pretty certain I’ll be building with XSitePro.
Mike Filsaime’s offers flooded my inbox
August 8, 2006 on 10:02 pm | In Achieve Financial Freedom, Affiliate marketing, home based business, internet business, make money online, seo | No CommentsWow! Don’t think I’ve ever been submerged by so many emails from so many people about one thing. In case you didn’t notice it, Mike Filsaime has launched his Butterfly Marketing manuscript that was selling for hundreds of dollars for the tidy sum of just $97. As it’s over 100 pages detailing results from Mike’s own campaigns and how he successfully launches new products – and is the basis for both Mike Cheney and David Watsons own successful launches this year – that represents pretty good value.
Mike tells you everything he knows about:
-How to build a huge opt in list in record time.
-How to use Viral Marketing to get auto pilot traffic to your
site day in and day out.
-How to put tiny little Butterfly Effects in your marketing to
earn thousands of dollars per month for years and years to come.
-How to use free reports to bring you 50 new opt in members per
day on total auto pilot.
-How to create a product in under 10 days.
-How to launch a site and get 5000 members in just 5 days or less.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg… there’s loads of really useful information. I mean, if like mean you sit and read through ebooks with a highlighter, this book has got plenty of stuff highlighted – and it’s not just a repeat of information that you’ll have heard from other internet marketing experts – this is top quality information that Mike’s handing out.
Have a listen to Mike’s information whilst this offer’s still on:-
How Alan could easily make more money from his website
June 17, 2006 on 4:43 pm | In Make money with Adsense, home based business, internet business, make money online, seo | No CommentsAlan, my Australian friend, recently got in touch for advice on how to make more money from his recently set up website. Alan is into natural health treatments, so his www.simplehealthmaintenance.com website is one that offers natural solutions to health problems.
Alan asked for my advice as to how to monetize the site, knowing that I have had success with Google Adsense.
First off, Alan needs to consider whether sales are his primary objective. If so, the addition of Adsense to the site, whilst bringing in extra income, might reduce potential sales.
Adding Adsense to his site would be a quick & easy way to make money. I suggested a horizontal Adsense link, just below the main navigation bar which runs across his index or home page. This would look natural and looks like part of the website navigation.
Also, the addition of a Google skyscraper unit on the right of his page would add value to the site, and also increase his income, but without detracting from his primary objective of sales.
Now, Alan is an expert on health, but not so good at search engine optimization. His heading for the page of “Simple health treatments by non-invasive electronic acupuncture” may explain what the page is about, but it isn’t going to get him hordes of traffic from the search engines – no-one is looking for either “simple health treatments” or “non-invasive electronic acupuncture”! Zoom along to Overture and check out their keyword selector tool in the resource centre if you want to see just what it is that people are searching for.
I suggested to Alan that he look at which words which people were searching for. Although he is happy to buy traffic for the site, using the pay per click engines (e.g. Adwords & Overture). This makes it easy to get a top search engine ranking for particular words or phrases (known as keywords) but can prove an expensive way of getting traffic.
Improving his “natural” search engine rankings, so that people found his site when typing in the keywords, would reduce Alan’s costs and increase his profit margins considerably.
This is relatively easy to do, and in fact I ran this for Alan myself using Wordtracker. This is a handy piece of software which allows you to look at the supply and demand of particular keywords and spot gaps in the market, also known as niches.
In this case, just one of the keywords which came up as in high demand but low supply was “pain management with acupuncture”. Alan would do well to either use these keywords as part of his homepage or to create a new page with this title and heading, together with suitable webcopy.
By putting these keywords at the beginning and end of a new page of copy, very soon this will start to get ranked well by the search engines and receive visitors who arrive for free!
One other easy suggestion for Alan to implement, since he is also a writer, is to write a couple of articles on the subject of natural healing and acupuncture and to submit them to Article Directory sites, such as Ezine Articles. This is a effective and natural way to get traffic to your site with minimum effort.
Watch this space – Alan will soon be making loadz more money by implementing these simple changes!
