Website Article Wizard – Version 3, just released
June 28, 2006 on 9:45 pm | In Create content, Make money with Adsense, RSS feeds & blogs, home based business, internet business, make money online | No CommentsAs you have probably noticed, I LOVE getting all the new “toys” and “gizmos” to make my life in internet marketing easier!
Well, I loved Website Article Wizard when I got it earlier this month, have quickly & easily created pages with it and am waiting for the search engines to index them before I see what the results look like.
Dave Watson’s done a great job on the update, there’s not just one or two updates, but at least a dozen, all of which contribute to the usefulness of this tool.
Not sure about the page creation of “random” content as I prefer my pages to be useful, personally I hate landing on a page which is full of keywords, but effectively gobbledegook (did I spell that right?!).
However, the use of keywords, meta tags and rss feeds is sure to make this a winner with many folk, in particular those who aren’t so confident in their article writing skills. Of course, you can also use your own articles (as I do) to add even more content to these pages.
I’ve put my article pages on to Google Adsense as a “channel” so I shall be monitoring the results closely – both for click through rate (CTR) and Page eCPM ( or value per page) to compare with the other pages on my sites. On the face of it, this is an easy way to add content to existing sites with minimal effort and I can’t wait to see the results over the next few weeks.
That’s Website Article Wizard, version 3, by David Watson, if you want to check it out for yourself.
Traffic, Adsense, Money! 7 Top Tips for increasing your Adsense income
June 28, 2006 on 9:22 pm | In Achieve Financial Freedom, Make money with Adsense, home based business, internet business, make money online | No CommentsBuild Traffic, Earn Adsense Money – 7 Top Tips
Want to increase your Google Adsense income, make more money from your website and increase search engine traffic? Here’s some tips for boosting your Adsense revenue. Forget the current obsession with ranking highly in the search engines – in particular, ranking high in Google. You can spend hours on optimizing your site for the search engines without any immediate results, meanwhile your Adsense ads are sat there feeling lonely and neglected!
The Key to Increasing your Adsense Income – Traffic
So your website is up and running, you’ve got plenty of optimised pages, but you’re wondering just when you’re going to get that first elusive cheque from Adsense – or you know that you could make more money if you could increase your traffic. There are some simple things you can do to increase your Adsense income immediately that will also help to build your income over the next few months too.
- Build links to your site – not just any links, but links with sites which have related content. You can build your initial links using the free service provided by Link Metro. To further build and develop your links, there are two strategies that I have found useful. The first is to type in your keywords, and the phrase “add url” or “submit site” and you will find several sites that are related to your content that are actively looking to exchange links. This can be time-consuming, but there is software available to make this easier, such as that offered by SEO Elite.
- Write articles and submit them to article directories – this can bring instant traffic to your site. You don’t have to write much, just 250 words or more. If you’re not sure what to write, visit the forums to see what questions people are asking and answer those questions! If you’re serious about submitting articles as a way to immediately increase your website traffic, you may wish to consider using article submission software to submit to dozens of article sites. This strategy also creates one-way links back to your site which again will help you to rank well in the search engines over time.
- Write a free report or e-book and use it as a viral marketing tool to get your website information right across the internet. This is easier than it sounds as a free report can be just a few pages, or can even comprise a few articles that you’ve obtained free from the article sites!
- Visit forums and other sites or blogs and leave a comment. Ensure that you leave a link back to your site and create an intriguing “signature” that get people interested in visiting your website. This strategy will also create links back to your site too!
- Have your own blog as part of your. If you struggle to write articles, you may find it easier to write in your blog (or web log). You can make entries of any length – the longer the better and make sure you use your keywords in your blog too. You can also add affiliate links which can provide an additional source of income too. Make sure you “ping” it to the search engines every time you update it, with Pingomatic and you’ll get immediate traffic. The search engines love fresh content and so will return regularly to visit your site to add any new pages, but mostly they see the regular updates as related content that also will improve your search engine rankings.
- Add RSS to your site – this is an easy and quick way to add fresh, keyword-rich content to your site. If you find a related ezine or website that is offering RSS, just add this to your site and you’ll be getting loads of free visitors from content that somebody else has written!
- Last, but by no means least, build your list. Just think of the hundreds of visitors that are going to visit your list every day, never to return. Just imagine what could happen to your traffic if you could capture the email addresses of these visitors and get them visiting your blog or site regularly? How about then selling to them via affiliate links once you have built up the trust between you and shown yourself to be an expert in your field? If you look at all the people who are making big money on the internet, they all have their own opt-in list. You can do this simply by using someone like A Weber to set up an autoresponder and by adding a simple PopUp, PopOver or PopUnder on your site to collect emails. This really is the secret to building long term profitability for your site and your business.

Make More Money with these Simple Adsense Tips
June 28, 2006 on 9:17 pm | In Achieve Financial Freedom, Create content, Make money with Adsense, home based business, internet business, make money online | No CommentsIf you’re fed up with making peanuts from Adsense, then here’s a few Adsense tips to get your income up and running.
Content
Do you have plenty of good content on your site – and by that I mean keyword-rich content? To make good money with Adsense you should be aiming for at least 50-100 pages on your site – all of them with at least 500 words of content.
Keywords
If you’re not sure what a keyword is, visit Overture or Wordtracker and do some simple research there as to what keywords people are typing into the search engines. Each page should be optimized for at least one keyword, but the idea of sprinkling a few minor keywords through your pages will attract you instant traffic whilst you wait to rank for the more competitive keywords
More Web Site Traffic
If you’ve already got good content that’s keyword rich, then work to increase your search engine traffic. First, ensure that you are listed in the major search engines. If you’re listed but simply not getting any traffic, there’s some easy ways to get more search engine traffic in just days:-
- Build links to your site – personally I use Link Metro to get those first links up and running and this means that the search engines naturally find and index your site
- Write and submit articles to the article directories. Within 24 hours of submitting an article you can have a flood of targeted search engine traffic arriving at your site
- Continue to add content – either through more pages, articles or by writing a blog. If you update your blog regularly and then ping it using Pingomatic, you’ll find you’ll be getting plenty of free traffic. Add to this by submitting your blog to the blog directories and you’ll increase your blog site traffic even further. So, don’t forget to put the Adsense code on your blog pages too!
- Traffic Exchanges – using a traffic exchange such as the popular Traffic Swarm is an easy way of gaining more web site traffic
Ban Proof Your Site
Make sure that neither you nor any of your friends, relatives and work colleagues accidentally or deliberately click on your site. It’s worth telling them that by clicking on your site they’re not helping you but may get you banned from Google!
Adsense Tracking
If you’re serious about Adsense, then tracking the keywords which are making you the most money and developing additional content around those keywords is a must. The addition of some simple code to your site can be a real eyeopener as to just where and how you are making money. If you’re not ready for this just yet, consider using the channels that Google offer to monitor how each page is doing.
Click Through Rate
Well, as you’ll probably know, due to Google’s terms of service, no-one is allowed to discuss their actual click through rates (CTR’s). However, by simply using the Google heatmap you can improve a dire CTR (by that, I mean anything less than 3%). If your CTR is already doing OK but you’d love to boost it further, then investing in resources provided by the Adsense expert will be an investment you can literally recoup in days or hours.

How Alan could easily make more money from his website
June 17, 2006 on 4:43 pm | In Make money with Adsense, home based business, internet business, make money online, seo | No CommentsAlan, my Australian friend, recently got in touch for advice on how to make more money from his recently set up website. Alan is into natural health treatments, so his www.simplehealthmaintenance.com website is one that offers natural solutions to health problems.
Alan asked for my advice as to how to monetize the site, knowing that I have had success with Google Adsense.
First off, Alan needs to consider whether sales are his primary objective. If so, the addition of Adsense to the site, whilst bringing in extra income, might reduce potential sales.
Adding Adsense to his site would be a quick & easy way to make money. I suggested a horizontal Adsense link, just below the main navigation bar which runs across his index or home page. This would look natural and looks like part of the website navigation.
Also, the addition of a Google skyscraper unit on the right of his page would add value to the site, and also increase his income, but without detracting from his primary objective of sales.
Now, Alan is an expert on health, but not so good at search engine optimization. His heading for the page of “Simple health treatments by non-invasive electronic acupuncture” may explain what the page is about, but it isn’t going to get him hordes of traffic from the search engines – no-one is looking for either “simple health treatments” or “non-invasive electronic acupuncture”! Zoom along to Overture and check out their keyword selector tool in the resource centre if you want to see just what it is that people are searching for.
I suggested to Alan that he look at which words which people were searching for. Although he is happy to buy traffic for the site, using the pay per click engines (e.g. Adwords & Overture). This makes it easy to get a top search engine ranking for particular words or phrases (known as keywords) but can prove an expensive way of getting traffic.
Improving his “natural” search engine rankings, so that people found his site when typing in the keywords, would reduce Alan’s costs and increase his profit margins considerably.
This is relatively easy to do, and in fact I ran this for Alan myself using Wordtracker. This is a handy piece of software which allows you to look at the supply and demand of particular keywords and spot gaps in the market, also known as niches.
In this case, just one of the keywords which came up as in high demand but low supply was “pain management with acupuncture”. Alan would do well to either use these keywords as part of his homepage or to create a new page with this title and heading, together with suitable webcopy.
By putting these keywords at the beginning and end of a new page of copy, very soon this will start to get ranked well by the search engines and receive visitors who arrive for free!
One other easy suggestion for Alan to implement, since he is also a writer, is to write a couple of articles on the subject of natural healing and acupuncture and to submit them to Article Directory sites, such as Ezine Articles. This is a effective and natural way to get traffic to your site with minimum effort.
Watch this space – Alan will soon be making loadz more money by implementing these simple changes!
